Cocoa powder and kids.

No, one does not cause the other. I got cocoa powder all over myself today whilst making chocolate fondant! It was fun though, so much fun. I turned on the worship music loud and donned my little chef shirt and made a 3 layer strawberry and chocolate cake. Really, it was like stressed oozed out of me as I was making it. I actually had fun with it! And I did all my dishes along the way so when I was done I was....done!

And halfway through Kris came over with all four of her kids and showed me her masterful ways of rolling out fondant and making it look nice!

So on another note, I discover that physics plays a big part in the kitchen mess. My equation looks somewhat like this:

MESS = amount of force behind hand or flying object/size of object + size of pile of powder sugar

In this case, both variables were quite large. Needless to say there was a sizeable "poof" in my kitchen that later had to be scrubbed down. The cloud of powdered sugar was pretty while it lasted though!

The cake turned out pretty cute too!

At church tonight I realize how much I love the little kids. I walked in and they all mobbed me! Dru (the cutest little 3 year old ever!) sat with me at church and just hung on me all night. As I was leaving she said "Melduddy" which is what she calls me, and ran at me and said "you didunt give me hug doodbye" so I gave her a hug and picked her up. I squeezed her tight and I said "I'm going to miss you druey bean!" she looked at me with these huge brown eyes and said "Yes but its otay betause I'm going to visit you at your house. But...but...but what if I don't know where you live?" At the "where you live part" she put her hands up in a confused gesture and crinkled her little forehead. It was so cute! I said "It's ok, your mom will show you" she said "otay Melduddy bye, I'll miss you!"

Michael and I ended the night with a conversation just the two of us for about 2 hours. It was nice. I did probably 85% of the talking but he did pretty good too. I serenaded him with songs on the guitar also. Started out with some secular folk music and ended up singing worship songs, what a way to end a night. Singing to the Lord and talking to my love!

Ah, today was good. Life right now is such a roller coaster but as I am learning to trust in the Lord more and in myself less, I feel as though I am enjoying the ride.

Wow... so, do we get pics of the cake, or what?!

PS: when do you find TIME for all of this stuff? I'm crazy running all over the place and can't hardly handle what I've already got on my plate! ha ha
